Port Equipment Manufacturers Association welcomes seven new members

The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA), the industry association for port equipment, has announced seven new members - Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd, VDL Containersystemen, BTG Special Products, Gantrex SA, Lenhert Reglungstechnik GmbH, Pepperl + Fuchs GmbH and Shanghai Jiuneng Mechanic & Electric Manufacturing Co Ltd., according to Shipping Gazette.
Founded in 1958, Liebherr Container Cranes, a division of Liebherr International AG, produced ship-to-shore, rubber-tyre gantry and rail-mounted gantry cranes, and now in use in more than 100 ports worldwide.
Dutch VDL Containersystemen manufactures a range of container handling systems including hooklifts, skiploaders, cable and chainlift systems, as well as spreaders and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for container transport.
BTG Special Products supplies high quality measurement systems for automated container terminals, including absolute position measurement systems for AGVs, straddle carriers and rubber-tyre gantry cranes.
Belgium's Gantrex SA, part of the Gantry Group, is a global supplier of crane rail solutions, with operating companies worldwide, supported by design and technical engineering teams in both Europe and North America.
Lenhert Reglungstechnik provides sway control, positioning and collision control systems for crane fleets. The German company's LENNIX range covers camera measuring, positioning and collisions avoidance for cranes.
Founded in 1945, Pepperl + Fuchs supplies electrical explosion protection and industrial sensors. The company's solutions are used worldwide in manufacturing, marine and offshore, oil and gas, materials handling, among others.
Shanghai Jiuneng Mechanic & Electric Manufacturing supplies resistors and electrical screw drives for a wide range of lifting and transport equipment, including ship-to-shore, yard cranes and mobile cranes.
"PEMA has had an exceptionally strong year of growth in 2015 and we are delighted to welcome our latest new members to add to the global reach and reputation of our association," said PEMA president Ottonel Popesco.
Founded in 2004, PEMA provides a forum and public voice for the global port equipment and technology sectors. The association has seen strong growth in recent years, and now has nearly 90 member companies.
