Hong Kong-operated Seaspan, the independent charter owner and container lessor with a headquarters in Vancouver, now takes delivery of the first of 10 neopanamax 10,010 TEUers built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, according to Shipping Gazette.
The MOL Bravo will be assigned to the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 1 under long-term MOL charter. MOL will split the other ships equally between Seaspan and Greater China Intermodal Investments (GCI) with the backing of long-term charters.
There are no charterers for four last units to be delivered in 2016.
The MOL Bravo is owned by Marshall Island-based investment vehicle GCI, established by Seaspan with the Carlyle Group and the Washington family. It is the eighth ship delivered in this Seaspan-GCI programme from a total of 11 sister ships, following recent delivery of Hanjin Tabul.
