Universal Power Group, Inc., a US provider of third-party logistics services and a distributor of batteries, has announced that it is launching its fourth logistics centre.
UPG has leased an approximately 18,000 square feet facility in Waddell Industrial Park, northwest of Columbus, Georgia. Randy Hardin, President and CEO of UPG, stated, "We are very excited about the addition of another logistics centre. We are executing on our plan to expand our geographic presence, which will facilitate logistical efficiencies and shorten ship times to customers, such as to Brink's Home Security branches and dealers."
The new logistics centre is also expected to bring added cost efficiencies, further improve service to south-eastern markets, and generate additional revenues through targeted sales efforts.
"Our logistics centre will not only manage distribution needs of regional accounts, but also allow for more strategic management operations and sales. We are committed to meeting our customers' needs and expect to launch additional logistics centres in the near future," added Mr. Hardin.
