Ningbo-US trade surges 33.7pc in first eight months

TRADE value between Ningbo and the US surged 33.7 per cent to US$5.43 billion in the first eight months of the year, Ningbo Customs statistics show.
Exports rose 29.4 per cent to $4.4 million while imports jumped 55.8 per cent to $1.03 billion.
Trade between Ningbo and the US was mainly handled by foreign-invested companies and private companies with their combined trade value accounting for 75 per cent of the total value.
The US is the second largest trading partner of Ningbo, following the EU.
