Berlin - The final statement of the Third Congress of the International Confederation of Trade Unions which is taking place in Berlin, Germany, attached great importance to Sahrawi issue.
The International Confederation of Trade Unions supports the people of Western Sahara who are engaged in the struggle for freedom, democracy and human rights, underlined the statement.
The International Confederation of Trade Unions condemns the harsh suffering of the Saharawi people who has resisted for half a century, and call on the United Nations and all those concerned to urgently find a just and lasting solution in the framework of respect for the United Nations Charter and based on freedom and democracy, added the statement.
On this occasion, an international trade union mission has been decided on behalf of the International Confederation of Trade Unions to visit the occupied territories of Western Sahara and the Sahrawi refugee camps to find out the reality of political and trade union rights and freedoms under Moroccan occupation and to see the living conditions of Sahrawis in exile.
It is also expected the committee charged with studying the issues of the struggle for the liberation will meet on Thursday, where the Saharawi people's struggle will have more attention and will bé highlighted by many friendly trade union organizations.
A Sahrawi delegation, consisting of the Secretary-General of Sahrawi Workers Union and Polisario Front representative in Germany, is participating in the Congres and met with many participating delegations, which confirmed their support for the fair struggle of the Saharawi people, it should be recalled.
