US forwarder Expeditors International is predicting a 33% fall in profits through the company's second quarter of 2009, despite a slight upturn in traffic volumes.
Today, CEO Peter Rose said earnings per share would be between US$0.24 and $0.26, compared with $0.32 for the same period last year.
"It goes without saying that 2009 has been an unusual year," he said. "While we did observe some quarter-end strength during June, volumes were still below what we experienced in 2008."
