Air Cargo Germany doubles freighter fleet

2009-9-10

Air Cargo Germany has been given the go-ahead to operate a second B747 freighter when it starts up operations.

MD Thomas Homering said the agreement from German air regulator LBA meant it could offer more flexibility as well as additional capacity.

CEO Michael Bock said the carrier was in final talks with various aviation authorities to obtain the traffic rights needed to start scheduled services.

"We expect a positive result shortly," he said.

ACG said the second aircraft was available for immediate use, with both freighters to be based at Hahn airport.
